I purchased the 20x version and then returned them for the 12x, the eye relief was terrible on the 20s and I kept seeing black on the edges of my eyes moved 1mm. It was also difficult to find spots on the hillside that I picked out with the naked eye due to the field of view and zoom.

I think the 12x will be much better for walking the Colorado mtns in search of elk. The 20s were definitely nice for the zoom in and counting points on a bull I saw when I wasn’t rushed. When I saw two bulls moving up the side of a slope, it took me a couple attempts to pick them up with the 20x. Those precious seconds count out in the field and I’d rather have the 12x for quicker lock onto my target.
