Have you tried the HDX vs the HDX pro at all? And if so what are your thoughts?

The one tradeoff between the two is the weight between HDW and HDX Pro. I suppose if I was using them as my primary bino it would be worth the penalty. As I'm using conventional 8x42s in my chest harness and my 16x42s as a "spotter", I tell myself that the increased aperture size wouldn't be worth it for me. But I'm just a newb....

Swarovski ELs or SLCs. I still refuse to look through a pair of NLs because I don’t want to be tempted to cheat on my SLCs.

Damn, it still seems like all roads lead to Swaros.... Image stabilization on the fly seems like a hell of a feature though.

The received wisdom I’ve seen is that nothing beats swaros on a tripod. Off tripod, nothing beats image stabilization for catching a flick of an ear or tail.

Since I can’t afford swaros anyways, I’m content with the image quality of my hdx 16x42s.
