Sierra 88 TMK Load Data

I have some loaded but haven’t shot yet.

My LC brass is 32.5+gr h2o.

77’s shot great at 24gr loaded 2.375” (.125” off lands).

You’ll be fine starting at 22gr if you’re over 2.4”

Lapua or bust, they’re hard on brass as is, with heavies I tend to end up higher on pressure and cheaper brass doesn’t last
I’ve since sold both of those 22-250 barrels I had, but lapua was what I Initially bought.

I got them flying well out to 500 yards so far, uploaded a video in post #354 that’s with my standard 8twist tikka 223

Got some N555 and N560 loaded up to test for my new 22cm with 88tmks. Have high hopes for the 560.
I’ve had excellent results with 560 in several rifles, I think it is overlooked on many of the slightly overbore options, 22-250, 6cm, even 6.5cm with heavy bullets

any help/advice on diagnosing my issue or what you’d try next?

tikka 22cm
PBB 16.25” 1-7.5tw .120 FB (brand new)
rs1.2
scythe ti airlock nano
DA 3,150 ft

first 6 rnds thru the barrel were factory 80 ELDX to zero scope avg 2,932 fps

load 1
-88 tmk
-43.5 gr stball hd
-peterson lrp (unfired)
-cci 200
-2.7 coal
-2,600fps

load 2
-88 tmk
-38.5 gr h4381sc
-peterson lrp (unfired)
-cci 200
-2.7 coal
-2,524 fps

only shot a couple rnds of each hand load bc i saw light ejector swipes and heavier bolt lift. shots were spaced out 1-2 minutes. bullets were seated to 30 thou jump in my chamber based on modified case and hornady oal gauge.
lots of new variables at play so not sure if i just need the barrel to break in more or if i should be looking at one specific element on the loads/rifle system.
update to this. my issue was related to a dirty chamber and is resolved.
loaded and shot 3 rnds of 42 gr h4831sc to confirm no pressure signs.
0.195" group | avg 2775 fps velocity
barrel still only has <50 rnds on it but will stick with 4831 for now.
(bottom shot was 42.6gr so i excluded it from the group but was 2823 fps)

Finally got my action back from nitriding and was able to put a few 88's down range. 22" 8tw .223 tikka takeoff rechambered to 22 creedmoor. 42.5gr n555 produced 3,210fps average for 10 and a .8-.9ish group. Range was hot so couldnt retrieve target for pics. Apologize for the multiple pics. Was doing some serious round robin with rifles and the chronograph today.

Quick load dev check.
Upped my load to 25.5 of Lever and seated the 88’s .020” further out. I’m jumping them about .040 now.

Didn’t really take my time, wanted to check for pressure signs and velocity more than anything. These bullets basically shoot themselves. It’s like I cannot shoot a bad group no matter how quick I rush through a session.

OG 6s on the left and with the Airlock Nano on the right. First 3 from the Nano stacked in one hole. By the 4th round it was showing a fair bit of mirage, as I don’t have a cover on it. It sounded amazingly close to the 6s.

16” barrel. 1/7 twist, .100 fb.

That is so sexy. And one jug of Lever should be good for over 2200 rounds.

Edit - barrel length on your rifle?

What do you think of that Starline brass?

I’ve used about 300 pieces now, one batch with 4 firings, I have personally really liked it

Book max of n565 22 creed. 16".

Ha, first two shots with this rifle I haven't shot in a while didn't go good

Going to increase my neck tension and try it again. This gun keeps doing the double cluster in a single group. Measured my case mouths with a loaded round. Was at .251. lol my bushing is .250
15 shots total.

88tmk in an 18" PBB barrel with a .120 throat. These were the first 40 shots on the barrel with all new alpha brass. 43gr of N555 produced the best group but none of them were horrible and all under 1MOA for 5 shots. Going to load up the other 60 half and half 42gr and 43gr to see what kind of larger sample size groups and numbers I get.

Ill verify on once fired brass, make any adjustments and roll on. My goal was 3k fps and after it breaks in I think ill be well above that. Ill fall back to N560 if I dont like it.
