Side mounted sling swivels on tikka t3x

I just tried my first Elk hunting trip and, coming from more of a tactical rifle background, felt like I’m constantly annoyed by the bottom mounted sling swivels.

I’d way rather carry the rifle with a 2 point tactical sling, with side mounted swivels so the rifle carries flat and I can transition from back-carry to shooting easily.

I’ve been searching but not finding a lot of options.

Has anyone gone down this rabbit hole and have any advice for either modifying an original t3x chassis to add side mount slings, or a lightweight aftermarket chassis that is already setup?

I think flush cups would suit you well.

It’s been a while since I had a factory Tikka stock, so not sure if there’s enough meat to support the install, but it’s worth a look.
Or you can purchase an aftermarket stock and have installed.

Easy peasy—Grove tec makes flush cups with a nut backer made specifically for plastic stocks. Its an easy install on the butt stock. The forend was a bit more involved but worked fine—I tapped mine. If you do a search I posted pics if mine a year or three ago if you need. If youre handy its a DIY thing, otherwise any decent gunsmith can do it easy.
