A couple of 10-shot groups shot with the Tikka 7RM that I have for sale in the classifieds (;))

FYI, I put a couple of clicks of right windage in it so that I don't shoot out the point of aim.

Load is 63.5 grains of 7828SSC, a CCI250, PPU brass, and 160 grain Nosler Partitions.

The shot on the extreme left of the second group was a called flyer, but you have to measure the whole system, including the shooter, right? All shots were fed from the factory mag.IMG_3457.jpegIMG_3458.jpeg

A 20-round group shot from my 6.5 Creed. Barrel was chopped to 20" and threaded with a collar for use with a suppressor. Put an Atlasworx bolt handle on it and put it in a Stocky's VG stock.

Load is 43.0 grains of Staball 6.5, a CCI200 primer, in Starline brass, shooting a 140 grain Sierra TGK. I am getting 2603 fps with this load, so I think there may be room for a bit more speed. I have really just started messing around with this. I also have some 140 grain SSTs and some 143 grain ELDX bullets to play with.

20241019_201603.jpgPicked up a "used" .223 t3x lite so I can set it up for the kids so I don't have to tear down my RSS. When I received it it looked like it maybe had a box of shells through it. Mounted a 3-9x Burris fullfield, reduced the trigger pull, degreased, paint pen, and torqued everything. Used some handloads I had kicking around from my other .223. 73 gr eld-m, imr 4064, fed 205, in LC brass. I think theres 12 or 13 in that group... haven't even floated the barrel yet, everything is bone stock.

Strong crosswind when shooting, but I was really happy with the results. Not sure how much the wind really matters for this close anyway. Back in the saddle with the Tikka .223.

Picked up a new Tikka T3X lite SS in 223 the other day. This was shots 15-25 through the gun. I was fighting with dust and mirage during this group because I was rushed for time. I was thoroughly impressed given the conditions.

Factory Tikka Action
Rokstok
Maven RS1.2 in UM Lows
UM Bolt Handle/Knob
Second barrel for this action, a factory Tikka 8 twist blued
Factory black hills 77 TMK ammo

Since the barrel swap, the gun hasn't been cleaned in over 7,500 rounds, gets shot VERY hot including the below 50 round, 100 yard, no rest between shots group from this morning...

Maybe that @Formidilosus guy is onto something with lack of barrel cleaning and who cares how "hot" the gun gets. I even cranked it up to 15 power today as it was very cool with no mirage, rare. In fact, since my last "sight in" check with this gun, there was a 65 degree temp swing, notice the "no fuss" with zero.

Hornady guys say by 30-50 the group should be round, so this is probably your true cone, the rest are just fliers from that pencil barrel walking around and throwing fliers. 1/4 MOA all day bro! 🤪

Thanks. And, yeah that's a 1" square. Figure by 100-200 shots it would be a "circle shape" with no black square showing, and be slightly over an inch round or so.

To be honest with you I wasn't even really "trying" on most shots. Just put the Maven reticle center dot in the white "void" that formed and let em go.
