Not great… not terrible. Messed around with a different bullet weight and came up with these.
Lapua brass
Imr 8208xbr 44gr
Cci primer
155 grain ELDM
102 yards
.308
18inch Bartlein
I know we don’t get called flyers but the one with the arrow by it, I said that one was shit right after the shot.

All rounds were fed through the magazine. Loaded 3 at a time and then shot then repeated. Odd thing about this 10 rounds is the first 3 rounds shot all grouped at the edge of the orange circle. The next seven groups slightly above. I don’t know if I subconsciously changed my point of aim, body position behind the gun or just how about 10 rounds grouped.

This is a fairly typical group out of my tikka 223 varmint barrel chassis setup. Shooting 77gr tmks obviously!

Why the switch from 147s out of curiosity?
FWIW, Frank has recommended using 139gr and under; mainly 130gr in 6.5 Creed. Admittedly, he's mainly talking in a comp/field shooting context, rather than hunting, but his commonly-given reasons are increased velocity, noticeable reduction in recoil (with solid fundamentals, this reduces other noise, so the 10-17 gr difference is perceptible), and being able to stay in scope / see impacts better.

Again, Frank's take on it, not mine, but adding here for context.

What is the general consensus from WKR’s On what is an acceptable 10 round group.

On a sidenote I don’t know why I just started utilizing ballistic x, that’s a hell of lot easier than measuring with a caliper.

IMO, 3/4 - 1 MOA with factory ammo from the prone position for a field rifle.

Not many factory rifles, ammo, and shooters can achieve that in a 10rd group.

A 10rd group around 1.3moa is going to be a gun/ammo combo that can produce not infrequent 3rd 0.5moa or better groups. You can see that in a lot of the groups posted in this thread.

And extending on @Lawnboi's post above, it's a different story again when you factor in multiple shots - even well-supported - from the four basic field positions of standing, kneeling, seated, and prone.

Chris' data collection from The Kraft project suggests that most shooters (who've downloaded the target and submitted results - so, arguably, more motivated, if not more skilled, than the majority of shooters) average around 3-4 MOA for the 12 shots, with high-level shooters about 2 MOA.

The Kraft drill is hopefully the deathknell for the claims of ".5 MOA all day long" - and it gives a process for all of us to both be humbled, be honest, and improve.

Two tikka 300wsms. One is a stock T3, the other is a 18" McGowen 9 twist with a TBAC9. Two best groups I've shot with them.
Left Pic is 212Eldx, right is 200.20x Bergers. Ballistic-X-Export-2022-09-04 19_26_42.452158.jpgBallistic-X-Export-2022-09-04 19_25_17.910359.jpg

Tikka 223 SL chopped to 18". Just trying different loads and bullets so I don't use up all my 77tmks.
