Shoulder Mount vs Wall Pedestal Mount

Following this thread as my son shot a Cali on the John Day last year and I am waiting for Wyo Backcountry to call saying they are ready for my skull and horns. It will be awesome for both of us to have a trophy from that hunt.

Still deciding on what to do with the mount on the wall (need to pick out the form when Wyo is ready to mold the horns) and had been planning on a shoulder wall pedestal with habitat but I like what @Doc Holliday is doing and @cbarg14 ’s original that he is modeling it after.

This has given me something to think about.

Just curious. What's the ballpark for WYO Decor's replica horns for NA sheep? (No need for exact figure). Just want to budget accordingly.

Well, I got my wall pedestal mount back home yesterday and got it hung where I wanted it. Wildlife Revolutions did beautiful work in my opinion, and were also exceptionally responsive and communicative throughout the process. Stonemount.jpg

I've ordered one of the "full range" hangers to get it a few inches away from the wall and turn it to it's left just a hair. Hopefully this thread is helpful to other people who are considering a wall pedestal mount.

Those are nice, I do think that adding some habitat to the pedestal mounts take it to a whole other level. Thanks for the reference pics!

Turned out incredible! Very nice, thanks for sharing. Giving me ideas on what to do if I punch my NWT tag in 2026.

Nice mounts and rams guys! I have always liked pedestal table mounts. You can turn them any direction and they really don't take that much room. They also bring a lot of life to a mount. Keep in mind that a good taxidermist can customize any sheep form and add additional shoulder and back. I've seen a lot of interesting artistic things done to the back side of table pedestals. Including tracks, sculptures, leather, hide, etc.

Looks great! I just got my euro back and am now waiting on my pedestal from Dewey with replica horns from Wyo Backcountry Decor.
