I'll be attending this year's SHOT show with Rokslide. Is there anything in particular you guys want looked at or asked about?

Any new scopes coming out?

I figure with the growth of backpack hunting and long range hunting that some of these manufacturers would start to cater to the crowd that likes both. Meaning, a nightforce comparable to the NXS line that doesnt weigh nearly 3lbs and without a 56MM objective, or someone like Leupold who makes nice lightweight scopes but their reticle choices suck, or if vortex who makes nice scopes with nice reticles but with sub par glass might try to up their clarity to Leupolds level.

I figure if anyone can figure this out (swarovski is close to figuring it out) that they would make a ton of money and fill a void in the scope industry where scopes are made with the right reticle, the right clarity and the right weight for long range backpack hunters.

Wouldn't that be nice? Nicely presented, by the way:cool:

I saw on the exhibitor list that Mystery Ranch will be there. Any info. on their new, light weight frame and pack you could get would be good. Thanks.

Is that nightforce 4-16x42 a setup like the shv or does it have zero stop and HS turrets?

I'm really wondering what Swarovski new binos will be like, if they have angle comp under 100 yards.

I'm also interested in any new scopes you come across Sam. Any new rangefinders would be cool to hear about as well.

Just bought the 1600b though, so if you find something really cool, DON'T tell me!

A little report on the alpha type 2 mags and XLR Element chassis would be cool. I am looking at those for my 6.5 build.

Here are the three new scopes that are announced so far by NightForce.

They have a new website as well www.NightForceOptics.com and at the top left there is a menu tab if you click on it will have a drop down of all the different scopes available.

I think those Nightforce are FFPs and gonna run north of 3 bills now that I've finally saved enough for a "standard" NXS.

But if you happen to see the Bushnell (gag....I know) LRHS line designed with input by George from GA Precision, maybe you could give them a once over? Last year was the 3-12. Heard a 4-18 due this year along with MOA/MOA

The new magneto speed v1 sporter would be cool!! With a msrp around $200 lots a folks will want to know more! I see a pre order for less than $180 going on.

...someone like Leupold who makes nice lightweight scopes but their reticle choices suck..."

I recently spoke with Leupold about their VX-6 scopes (specifically their 3-18x models). They hinted that there may be some new reticle choices coming out for the VX-6 line. I'm eager to hear if these are released at the show, what the new reticle options are, and what your thoughts are about the new options compared to the old reticle options.

Thanks for asking for our requests!

I'm interested in this as well. I think the 3-18 VX6 would be an ideal size/magnification for my light 260. I will definitely spend some time with Leupold at the show!

I've been in touch with Leupold this week. They just posted a new VX-6 on the website. The VX-6 CDS-ZL, it has Zero Lock with a new Wind Plex reticle. Pictures are up on the website, looks good to me.
I believe the other reticle shown for the standard VX-6 models include a Varmint Hunter reticle.
