When thinking about trying something new or being hesitant to get out of your comfort zone, I have thought of:

500 years ago, map makers used to write on the end of the map - "beyond this point, there will be dragons and demons"

Turns out they were wrong

"Your children's children will live under communism, You Americans are so gullible. No, you won't accept communism outright; but we will keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you will finally wake up and find you already have Communism. We will not have to fight you; We will so weaken your economy, until you will fall like overripe fruit into our hands." "The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."

Nikita Khrushchev in 1959
Sounds like it would have been a cool plan, but that alleged quote is nothing more than a fabrication that's been making the rounds after being pumped up by certain charlatans — which kinda validates some of the first line, ironically enough. 🤔

If you delegate tasks, you create followers. If you delegate authority, you create leaders
~~~Craig Groeschel
One of the greatest ( and most difficult ) lessons for young managers and leaders to learn is to delegate authority while maintaining responsibility for what those subordinate leaders do.
When I was a young LT in the Army, my first CO told me, " In large measure your fitness report and evaluation will be based on how your sections perform when you are not there. " If one allows oneself a moment to ponder that, it becomes quite profound.
