Short 6.5prc

Has anyone built or shot a short barreled 6.5prc 18.5”-20” barrel ? If so what kinda bullets and muzzle velocity are you getting. Thank you

I’ve got a 19.5” PRC. I’ll list where my nodes were with each bullet
Berger 156 2850fps
Berger 135 Classic Hunter great node at 3027 and a decent node at 3070 (edge of pressure)
Berger 140 elite hunter 2965
Hope that helps, with all loads I was using ADG brass, RL26, and 210 primers

I just ordered a 18.5” barrel 6.5 cal 1-8t I’m thinking about making it a 6.5prc or maybe a 6.5 Sherman max or SST but factory ammo of the prc is nice sometimes

I’ve got a 20” 6.5SS. 140 Berger hvld at 2950fps with rl23. It wears an ultra 7 suppressor.

I’d ask you how much but you put the bolt handle on the wrong side..I have a 300 prc with a 20” and love it.

Just put three rounds of factory 143 eldx over the magnetospeed. Tikka barrel rechambered to 6.5 prc and cut to 20 inches with a tbac ultra 7 on it. 2747, 2765, 2796

I put the bolt on that side to make sure nobody steals it...... I’m pretty sure I found a buyer today

What load are you shooting in that rifle? And how did you come to that cartridge. I’m debating between this and a 300 WSM for a short barrel elk gun.

Haven’t done load development yet just broke it barrel but plan on trying 205 and 215 Berger I’ll post results as soon get a load it has just been to hot can’t wait for cooler weather.

I did the same thing. I’m getting .5 MOA with factory 143 eldx but haven’t got speeds yet. Planning on it next week.

this seems odd. I wouldn’t expect more than 30 FPS.
