Shooting Tripod for NRL Hunter

At 9” longer I have been telling myself it’s worth the trade to be able to stand up and glass or shoot.
Yeah, I'm short, so I don't have that problem. The CMX would probably work great for me especially for gaming/comp use.

I'd love a 3 section inverted that's 24" or so tall when folded for hunting. I'm currently using the SA-364 when hunting and shooting comps.

I would not consider the SO282-CMX tall enough to glass/shoot standing. Yes, with an angled spotter or on flat ground with a slight bend at hips, it could do both fine. It's too short for bino glassing standing for me (5'10") on flat ground, much less situations with a downslope in the direction you're glassing which I find myself in frequently.

It is my current hunting glassing/shooting tripod though. I would like to shorten the legs a few inches so it's not as long on the pack. I've seen others refer to the 3 section tricer as a nice option. For full on gaming, a beefier tripod is nice.

I was looking at the 282 CX (regular) and not the 282 CMX (Short) The short version is only 30" tall which isn't too bad.

I wish someone made a lighter 3 section inverted, that would be awesome, I'd like to see the Tricer HK and compare it to the Leofoto. It checks a lot of boxes.
I have the tricer HK and sold my SO282 tall and short tripods right after receiving. Tricer is just right for standing glassing and a sitting/kneeling shooting tripod. Would recommend to anyone looking for a single tripod to use for NRL and hunting.

If strictly for NRL get something beefier, just because there is no weight penalty. You CAN shoot off these tripods standing, but none are exceptionally stable. They are all good enough for kneeling/sitting though

How do the mh heads compared to Aziak, do you have experience with those?
My pard has one....it's pretty much the same.

Sorry I was thinking of my lh head. The mh is a side grip that moves with the gun. The lh and aziak dont....and I hate that. They're super smooth, but I can be hunting for the lever vs it always being on the right side of my gun.

I’m one that one tripod isn’t going to be enough. But don’t want to shell the cash out for two right now. So what’s the best comp tripod and head. What is the best hunting combo. Leofoto for both.

Ive got the Cadillac big ol' inverted leofoto with their ball head. Got it as a 50% cert at a match. Ended up costing me about 450.

Ive got a manfrotto fluid video head that I put an arca on the bottom. Ive got an arca qd on the ball head and an arca qd on the fluid head.

Glass with the fluid head. And rarely, rip it off and mount the gun to the ball head.

Its a danged slick system. Heavy and cumbersome. But my ranging accuracy is perfect. I found it was losing way too much time trying to get accurate ranges. No more!

It's very much a gamer setup. But I'll rock it for whitetail hunting too

Ive got a few that ive used that include sirui, leofoto, and fatboy. Leofoto tripods give a lot of bang for the buck IMO. I upgraded to a fatboy that is double the cost and bulk but is only a little steadier. The leofoto ive used is the sa 363 with the 50mm handle style ball head. Very easy to setup and shoot off of. I dont need 2 tripods for nrl though, id let it go in your price range if your interested.

Probably the SO362-CX for gaming. I'd see what the guy is willing to sell the T3 Trilogy for though and go that direction if pricing is fairly close.

MA-30L ball head, or just use a schmedium on the apex as others have mentioned. I think there's benefits to shooting off bags but I also have found stages where you have to move a tripod 3x times and shoot from a similar height where it's awful nice to stay clipped in for the moves.
