I am thinking about starting to do NRL hunter. I have been watching some gear videos to make sure I have everything I need. The only thing really sticking out to me is that I don't really have a great tripod. I do have a tripod that I use (Aziak Backcountry Lite) for glassing when hunting but I don't think that would be great for shooting NRL hunter.

I am seeing a lot of people recommend RSS or Two Vets but those tripods aren't really in the budget right now. I am hoping to spend between $300-$500.
If anyone has any recommendations on tripod for NRL hunter matches that would be appericated, thanks you!

Shoot a match and see if you like it, last year leofoto had lots of certificates on the prize table that usually lasted through lots of shooters, you could pick one up if they are sponsoring again and get a

SO-362CX

Look at some of the Leofoto offerings. I regularly see them on sale at 10-20% off on ebay.

My preference is the MA-30L head. (The L model has a quick release) If running an Arca rail it's a lot quicker to attach.

If you aren’t spending RRS money no one beats Leofoto because they are the OEM for a bunch of other companies rather than just an importer/middleman.

For NRL hunter an inverted 2 section is ideal for deployment speed like a Leofoto SO-282CX, SO-322Cx. The Leofoto 324 series is a great all around option for hunting but it’s slower to deploy on the clock.

I know this is different than some of the options provided.

But does anyone have any input on this?

It is 50% off if I buy something else from them (anything so was just going to buy something cheap)

Thought it seemed like a good deal

That is a really really good deal. I have the 283 I pack for hunting but this one is heavier (better for NRL). Three section tripods are stiffer and lighter than four section tripods - and fully collapsed is a great working height.

For an all around tripod it’s pretty ideal. Sort of what I bought and use my RRS33 for, but at 1/6 the price.

I have a like new Trinity shooting tripod I’d make a deal on. Can confirm it’s excellent to shoot off of.

I would snatch one but I think I’m set on inverted legs.
