I’ve got a little history with this powder, but it’s hard to find many folks using it that are posting about it.

I bought my first pound probably eight years ago at a gun show. I went looking imr4064 for the 243win. When I asked this powder seller from TN, he grabbed a pound of SWLR and said it will be the most accurate 243 powder you’ve ever loaded. Well I still sourced some imr4064, along with buying a pound of long rifle from this fella. A pound then was…. $26!!

By the time I got around to trying it out, which was a couple years, I found it to be very accurate with 85gr and 100gr Speer btsp’s. Now back then, Shooters World didn’t have a bunch of load data. By the time I built my loads the price had jumped. Since it was compared to h4350, and h4350 was in a drought of availability, thus the hike in cost.

Luckily over the past few powder purchases, I’ve been able to snag a few pounds for $35 and $44.50 most recently. All the while it’s selling some places from $50-$65/lb! It might be a touch slower than h4350, but it produces superb accuracy.

So if you find some that’s reasonably priced, it’s an excellent choice for the 243, likely for the 6.5 creed for which it’s touted also.

Here are some of my results:
