Maybe try Turo. I’ve never used it but I have buddies that have multiple times and say it’s great.Ya $538 for a tacoma. Everything else even small cars were like $1800

I am about the buy 1000 "AAC 5.56 NATO Ammo 77 Grain OTM" but I have no idea if they "shoot well" in my 223. I have 500 55g Berry's that I know shoot pretty well, and am wondering if I should just use the Berry's for the "close" 100-200 stuff, and buy 500 of the 77 ACC?Whatever shoots well. Hornady 105gr HPBT or 108gr ELD-M are usually good.
You don’t hand load I’m assuming? Thanks! I only have the 6 ARC. Since I'm in Colorado, I'm unsure about getting a .223 due to the regulations here. For now, I'm considering renting one. I'm just trying to decide which ammunition to bring and how much of each.

Here is my setup:
TIKKA T3X ACTION
UM TIKKA BOLT HANDLE + KNOB
ROKSTOK
FACTORY TIKKA DBM + MAG
ACE STEEL BARREL 20″ 7.5TW
THREADED MUZZLE + CAP 5/8-24
“VANGUARD VERDE” CERAKOTE
6 LBS 7.3 OZ – 39.75 IN LONG
Turo is the way. Bozeman airport hit them with a pretty high tax in the last year or two for airport drop offs though. Think it’s $150-200, can’t remember. Go through turo and pick up somewhere other than airport. Taxi or shuttle to car pick up, drops the prices back down to normalish.Maybe try Turo. I don't have load, but I would like to get into it. Thanks for the advice! You don’t hand load I’m assuming?
Hell, I’d try to find a bunch of the 106 2nds for what people paid for them (less than the $0.25 I have into my pile of 224 ELDs).
Brass may be more expensive I guess.
I’d prefer to shoot a 6ARC over a 223 for a trainer.
Dang tourists I guess lolYeah especially as the classes expand.
I was the only student that flew in my class.
Nice. Paid a little over a grand for the “managers special” for the week before yours. I bet an uber would be similar or more.

Sounds like a good business opportunity for a local to run a shuttle service

Glad that worked well! One minor correction to avoid potential confusion, the load I sent was 5.56.Another option for 77gr ammo, @h2so4 provided some Bone Frog .223 ammo loaded w 77gr hpbt for testing. My Tikka liked it… 18” barrel. Avg 2615fps. Max spread around 50fps over 20 rounds.
Shot 10 fairly quick, checked group
Shot another 10 faster, checked group
0.2 mil Right adjustment
Plugged in a BC of 0.350 and walked it out to 600, windage missed 1st shot at 6, corrected and no drama.
I have a sinking feeling in my stomach that my UM Low Rings on my Tikka are going to not work well at this class in my RokstockI just did a bit of dry fire, and if I am directly behind the stock, my eye is too high
... canted a bit, and it's "just right". I believe I remember in one of the "Form" comments on another post, he showed pics of guys "starting like this" (canted) and correcting to behind. Wondering if there will be Mediums to buy at class? Seems that this little "nuance" would have material impact on the remainder of the class?
What say you @Formidilosus and @Ryan Avery? How would you recommend planning for this? I'd hate to spend $5K and then have the shooting be less than optimal because I had rings that were too low (or high) for that matter. Insight is appreciated.

Fingers crossed, I'd love to have mine before class. If not I'll be bringing my LH 223 savage axis and hope for the best@Ryan Avery any update on those LH Tikka 223's? I am guessing 0% chance of getting one prior to class, but man, if I could!
On that note, what 223's are the LH's shooting at the class? Or are they shooting some other caliber as the "practice gun"?
