I second that, it was great meeting everybody. (I’m going to be replying to everyone’s comments for a while so I can get on the goddmn Rokslide classifieds)

You didn’t reset your turret on the last shots…. Just sayin.

Haha

For what it’s worth:

This rifle has been used for the last 3 S2H classes. It is more than 3,000 rounds by students, and somewhere between 1,000 and 1,500 by me. It is conservatively over 4,000 rounds since new. The bore has not been cleaned, wiped down, or had anything but bullets put through it (snow, rain, and sand excluded). The can is over 3,000 rounds on this rifle- nothing has been done to it either. The rifle and scope was dropped by a student in the Winter course onto concrete and bent the elevation turret severely. It was hammered back straight- it was still zeroed and has worked fine since.

Magically it still works, still groups, and has not blown up from not cleaning. As well, there are multiple S2H rental 223’s with between 8,000 and 10,000 rounds on them that are all the same.

Must be flukes….

What scope covers are those?

Being that it’s been a while and I did the rifle above, I grabbed the rest of the S2H class 223’s and my original T3 and shot a single 10 round group with each. I left the zero where it was for the last class for all. The left 3 all have 8,000 plus rounds through them, the far right is well over 25,000 rounds on its original barrel. None have been cleaned, all have been shot suppressed since day 1 save the far right and it has been suppressed since about 14,000 rounds.

We are one lucky group of people I guess.

How many flawless R700s at the second class? 😂

Zero. There was one shot last week, but only for about 40’ish rounds I think. In actual use at classes, I believe we are 0 for 6 or 7 custom R700 based rifles being reliable for even a couple of mags this year. One last week averaged about 4 malfunctions per 10 rounds.

grin.

I already knew the answer before i asked it. If you let people train in perfect conditions then the tide might shift! 😇

I'm looking at a Tikka build now thanks to what I saw at the first class. But I have my fingers crossed on the MRC lefty availability timeline. That's my preferred option.

No doubt.

The MRC is tits. Had another shooter use it the second class- zero issues.

I keep seeing people using the ADI 55 and 69 and I feel like I’ve been missing out on using them.

@Jimbee and I are signed up for a ‘26 class. All these posts are getting me super excited. Looking for some feedback from recent students and Form. How many 223 rounds do you recommend brining? Anything you wish you brought that you didn’t or wasn’t on the pack list? What other fresh insights can you all pass along? Thanks in advance!

1,000 rounds of practice ammo. Shoot it in your rifle first to make sure it is ok. AAC has not been consistent at all- wouldn’t recommend it. ADI 55gr Blitzking, 69 and 77gr SMK is good to excellent.
