Shiras Moose record(s)?

Congrats! That's a whopper and will easily make B&C. The toughest measurement is palm length. It's sometimes tough to figure out the parallel measurement from the top of the palm to the bottom of the fork in one of the brows. I have had the fortune to hunt shiras a few years ago in Wyoming and this year in Colorado. I spent a lot of hours watching and filming moose every weekend this summer and early fall. They sure are cool critters!

Awesome bull. Keep in mind moose can shrink a lot during the drying period. Or maybe it was just mine that did. He green scored 181” and after 60 days was 171” net.

Spoiler alert…he is NOT a new state record. Our scores are fairly accurate I think, but my understanding of what the record-numbers are was way off base.

He nets 170ish, though will need to dry first. I assume he’ll lose some additional points of course.

Still immensely proud of my girl and what she did. I’ll try and post a full story when I get a few minutes.

Here she is just after checking the bull with IDFG this morning. They did say it was the biggest bull the Nampa office had checked in this year.

I bet you got some looks going down the road with that in the back. That is a heck of a bull.
