That is awesome! Your taxidermist did a great job. Definitely some amazing artwork in this thread.

Ray Wiens in BC.
I wanted something cool for my first ram. barrel opens up to a shelf with the rough area, date, and a routered slot for the brass. Whisky goes in the bottom, glasses up top. Added handles after the photo.

Life size dall was my first sheep. Go life size if you can. I regret not doing my Rocky as a life size. Wildlife revolutions did both.

You can't beat them for beauty, but the "uniqueness" of a sheep to many, is the weight of the horns. It's simply incredible how heavy a good set of horns are. In saying that, if I ever shoot another ram, I will simply cap it, and put in on the table for all to lift and feel. A dead head on the wall is a work of art, but once there, the heft of the horns, and the fascination of them in your hands is gone forever. I did a shoulder mount on my first and a pedestal on the second.

He's a Rocky, not a Desert. I got him in the desert with cacti, rattlesnakes, and 95+ degree heat. I wanted the mount to reflect where he was harvested. The taxidermist was able to match the granite in the area, so the rocks are pretty much the exact color of the landscape where I took him. Greg Brumfeld over in Palisade, CO did the mount.

My Dall is from the Alaska Range back in 2013. My taxidermist who did that one has since retired.

FYI….Make sure your taxi gives you two mounting holes so the top heavy mount cannot rotate and come off the wall. It sucks really bad when you get an earthquake and damn near breaks the head off at the neck from the fall.

Ouch man. That sucks bad

Very cool. Would love to see a pic of the barrel base with the door open
