Recently got back from an amazing time in Alaska. I won the hunt through the Wild Sheep Foundation and their Less Than One Club. I can't thank the people involved and the sponsors enough for the opportunity I got.

We saw a lot of sheep during the hunt and looked at nearly 50 different rams, none of which we could make legal, so I went home without a ram. I can't explain how amazing it was to just experience Alaska, and in the end, it really doesn't bother me that I didn't get a ram. These pictures probably won't do the scenery or the hunt justice, but maybe some of you will enjoy them nonetheless.

On the plane from Fairbanks to base camp.

Next day my guide and I headed out to hunt for a few days. We were spotting sheep that evening from camp, the hunt was on!

Lots of sign during the entire hunt of grizzlies, but this was the only one we laid eyes on.

We saw a lone sheep at the head of the drainage so the next morning we packed up the spike camp and headed upstream.

Woke up to a little fog, not much hunting was done that day. It cleared up enough to get out the day after this though.

My horse Buck was feeling good that morning!

We didn't find any legal rams in the area we were in so we headed back to base camp to regroup and then head to a different spot. Not a cloud in the sky that day, with Mount McKinley in the distance.

Luckily it cleared up enough for us to get out for one more day of hunting.

Amazing pictures. Thanks for putting up the thread. Even though you didn't get a sheep, no one can take away the memories. The memories are permanently etched in your memory, I can assure you that.

Fantastic pics. Awesome country isn't it? I've been in that neck of the woods a few times. Pics don't do it justice do they?!?! Looks like you had a great trip, decent weather, animals, etc. Just no shooters. Like HighCountry said.... When you comin back? :D

Simply beautiful. I never get tired of seeing pictures of this country. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit and hunt, maybe next time, eh. Thanks for sharing these.
