Man there definitely should be! Keep all us weirdos in one place. Shed season is the best time of the year to be in the woods. Can’t wait!

I'd say it's odd, worriesome even lol, if a guy isn't interested in sheds. I think most guys don't because of time constraints. But to not even be interested in em, just weird lol

Crazy thing was he was super young that year too! Picked up his set the next year and he put even more mass and length on.

I live in Blacktail country so I usually spend this time of year pokin around for Lions or canines, my Blacktail spots they just adjust elevation as needed no real wintering areas (in my places anyhow) so I don't bother lookin for their sheds, I just find em once in a while when scouting/checking cams. I head up for Mulie tine to the interior starting in April. I'm up in BC but i've seen the crowds in some of the Western states down there where they make people wait and things sem like they can definitely get crazy!

Some are not a fan of shed hunting, that is fine, more for me It has been one of my passions for 3+ decades. You don’t walk enough and learn their habits, you don’t find them unlike hunting they never come to you my 4legged mountain boy are off covering ground in 2025. Hey man! I recently moved to the mountains (from Denver to Vail area) and I'm always looking for excuses to explore more. Typically turkey season distracts me but it seems like there are going to be a lot more sheds than turkey in my backyard now. I have a wirehaired pointer griffon that hunts upland well. Any tips or recommendations on getting him into shed hunting? He has at least 2 sets of sheds he's always gnawing on that I pick up for him throughout hunting season so I think the natural interest would somewhat be there and he loves getting out into the wild for anything (fishing, hiking, whatever).

The hate comments in this thread crack me up. Shed hunting for most people is a good chance to stay in shape, spend time with my buddies, explore new areas, and learn more about the animals we hunt. If that’s lame then I guess most of us are pretty lame.
A shed hunting sub forum would be more useful to me than all the trivial talk about “wHaT CaLiBeR ShOuLD I UsE To KiLl A ElK?”

I mean some of the stuff on here is so asinine. Maybe that stuff will interest me someday when my knees don’t work but I’d rather get out of the house and be in the hills for now.
That recent rokcast episode with Art was one of my favorites. He used shed hunting to gain intel on big bucks he later killed. I would dare say shed hunting played more into his success than what gun he shot or what boots he was wearing.

To me it seems most people just parrot whatever is trending or is "cool", they see one guy do it then they just follow him thinking it's funny. It's a hunting related activity, i'm not sure why another hunter would even take the time out of their day to put it down, it's strange. Energy could be better spent elsewhere against people who are actually trying to take away our way of life instead of trying to clown other hunters.
