Setting up pelican for flight

Anyone here try and flip the foam in a pelican V770? I cut it originally with the scope opposite the handle then saw some recommendations to have it the opposite, but I guess the case isn’t a rectangle? Also what else do you typically put in it?

Get rid of that foam cut out piece and pack extra clothing and stuff around the gun to keep it from moving around. You get a 50lb per bag limit, may as well stick more stuff in there.


To answer your question though, it seems obvious that you could flip the foam the other way with no issues.

thinhorn_AK gave you solid advice and is the way to go. I would also suggest putting your gun in a soft sided padded gun case and then pack other clothing/gear around it.

Not sure who you’re flying with but make sure you have a lock in every location possible. Looks like your case has (4) locations.

I had seen people online have issues with only having (1) or (2) locks. Sure enough the Delta agent checked my case to be positive every hole had its own lock. Thankfully I was prepared

yes 100% as many locks as will fit on the case.
