Thanks! Any experience with big agnes? Wasn't sure how dependent they were on a well insulated pad, from my reading seems like they have less fill in the back of the bag because it just compresses and doesn't insulate well anyways. SG bag looks great but looking for something a little wider at the feet. Will check cabelas!Big Agnes, stone glacier, Cabelas carries a ton.

My big Agnes is incredible. Just get a good pad. And I think you would be amazed how big the stone is...all I've heard about them is how roomy they are. The Sitka bag is surprisingly roomy too. Thanks! Any experience with big agnes? Thanks! Which models of BA and Nemo? Thanks for REI garage sale recommendation!I have both Big Agnes and a Nemo for backpacking and love them. REI has a lot of good options and good prices in there garage sale area from time to time.
Trying to get the closest thing to an all around 4 season bag although honestly winter camp would be rare and could do a liner in those instances if needed. Thinking a 15 degree bag is the right wheelhouse. Thanks for feedback on slickbag, was thinking that would be too tight but good to know it is roomy.Welcome.
what temp range and conditions are you focused on?
I am a bigger guy and like a little room in my bag.
- I have a Nemo forte *20 that has good shoulder room and great leg room.
- have owned big Agnes in the past and like them
- wiggys is great, durable but a touch bulky and fairly heavy
- WM are nice but $$$$ and down isn’t always the best choice IMO for wet or very damp adventures.
- I finally threw down for a Kifaru slick bag last year. It is awesome and plenty roomy. You pay $$$ for it but it is US made and will likely outlast me.
- another option is a quilt. I have one from enlightened equipment. It is great because you have all the leg room you can hope for but there is a little bit of an art to quilt sleeping and I don’t care for them much below freezing
