bowhuntercoop...I got that same truck, a 2003 with 111,000 on it, 305hp HO and always garaged. Pretty much stock with the factory tube step boards except for a Road Armor front bumper and 35"x315 tires on the factory rims. Has a Diamondback bed cover. These are awesome trucks and I get compliments everywhere I go with it. Thinking about putting the factory front bumper on it though...but as-is it looks as mean as all get-out. Those 5.9 diesels can easily be built to take 700hp without getting into the block. However, you will also need a built tranny.

As a point of reference, I just bought a 2006 3rd gen 2500 4x4 manual with 177k miles for $15k at a local auction. It has a salvage title from a side impact collision that caved in the driver’s side rear door. If it had a clean title it probably would’ve brought $20k.

FB Marketplace seems to be the most popular platform for direct private party sales. Craigslist seems pretty dead, although it doesn’t cost anything to put up a listing there and maybe reach some potential buyers who don’t use social media.

Over 21 years and just under 300,000 miles, and my old 3500 still takes me to work and back every day. The only complaint I have is, I wish I would have bought the 6 speed manual. That said, I don't believe I'll be getting rid of her anytime soon.

Haha well aware. I worked for Cummins northeast outta williamsport PA before I moved south. I went all out on mine. 100hp exergy injectors, 12mm cp3, 64 calibrated powrer stealth turbo, head studs, Intake, exhaust, tuning. Fully built 48re with billet everything, triple disk converter. It’s 600-700 hp turned up. Too much honestly. I love keeping it looking like a sleeper grandpa truck though haha. I’ve had a bunch of diesels before but this is by far the nastiest when you lay into it.

Care to elaborate? All are capable of multiple thousand horsepower.
I thought I put “stock” in the first post. I typed out a second paragraph with that and a compliment of the trucks look. I don’t know where that went.

Either way I’m sure you can build all the horsepower you want. Or, buy a stronger power stroke and be set. 😀

FWIW, what it lacks in power in stock form, it makes up for it in reliability. They are great trucks man. They just aren’t powerhouses unless you sink a lot of money in them.

I’m going to delete the first post. It sounded funnier then people are going to take it.

You just described every stock diesel pickup in the history of stock diesel pickups.
No I didn’t. We could do this forever. if you’ve driven all three over the years, you know that. If you haven’t, you tube guy compares the big three offerings unbiased. And has for years.

OP, you got a great truck man. It’ll last you a long long time. It’ll pull anything the trucks rated to pull. Pre smog regulations certainly makes selling it a tough choice.

Good day fellas.

I sold my Tundra on FB in 30 minutes. We put a test in the ad to filter out the "Is this Still Available" tire-kickers.
What was the "Test" you put in your ad? Every time I list something on FB 100 ask about it, 50 people say they want it, and maybe 1 actually shows up.

This first this we say is "Anyone responding 'Is this Still Available?' will be ignored. If the ad is here, it's still available."

Have also asked people to include a math problem with the answer of 15 (or whatever). It's like the famous brown M&M stories from Van Halen - they demanded a bowl of M&Ms with the brown ones removed. The whole purpose was to ensure the promotor, etc read the entire contract.
