Hunting Scope Option Question

I have a 20" 6.5 Creedmoor for my main hunting rifle. I live in the south and have friends who live in the mid-west where I can hunt. I'm thinking my max range for game/ predators is 500 yards or less. I have the option of buying one of two used scopes. One is the Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x 42 the other is the Vortex Razor LHT 3-15x 44. Both are MOA and second focal plane. Both have illumination. The Vortex is $450 cheaper. Do I need the extra magnification at 500 yards. Does the Nightforce durability warrant the additional cost? I know there is a lot of field experience out there can someone advise me on which one best fits my needs. Thanks

If it were me (I have a NF NXS 2.5-10) I would either get the Nightforce, or use open sights. Vortex is never the answer, unless you can get a couple of their T-shirts at a thrift store. They work great to wear to paint the house.

NF is the way. 10x is plenty. More magnification is not your friend brother. As for if the cost of the NF is justified...IMO yes I believe so. I have never regretted buying a NF. I have regretted buying less expensive scopes and then ultimately buying NF. spent more money in the long run. buy once cry once. Im surprised nobody has tried to point you. in the direction of SWFA scopes yet. Give those a look. might just be the perfect medium in your conundrum.
