Interested in insurance for home/car/ccw protection. I live in a very 2A unfriendly city/state.
Any advice?

I'm pretty sure that they provide funds for legal defenseWhat would “ccw insurance” do to protect you if an Anti 2A State DA who was hell bent on ruining your life filed charges of some sort? What would an insurer do to earn that premium you paid them?

Obviously all the policies probably vary a great deal in what they cover and the amounts, but a quick google search appears to show that they can help with criminal and civil defense fees if you get charged with something after using a gun for self defense, depending on the policy and your situation. Which tracks with what I found when I looked into it myself a few years agoI could see defense in civil court, but criminal would surprise me. That civil defense could be huge though. Family can sue you and you’d spend a pile on defense even if they get laughed out of court eventually. Kind of like malpractice insurance- covers that part of it, but if a prosecutor is after you for criminal charges. They might have wording in the contract that lets them tell you you’re on your own.

They tell you not to say anything to law enforcement until you get them on the phone. It’s been mentioned above, but in a traumatic event people can say some wild things. All of which will probably be held against you regardless of whether you were right or wrong. The police aren’t necessarily your friends in a self defense situation.I’d focus on what to say initially to responding officers. Learn what the related statutes actually say and use that wording. “”I responded to an immediate threat to my life with force required to mitigate that threat”. I’ve never looked into it. So that is a WAG, but if I carried that is the information I’d want to know and base my initial answer on. Then I’d say I want to have legal counsel present for any further discussion.

I just read on the Gun University site that WA does not ALLOW you to buy CCW insurance. Unbelievable. That might be the kick in the nuts for a lot of people to move, including me. I can only imagine how the insurance vultures will swoop in to really gig everyone.
Good thing the ones one might loose in a boating accident won't need insurance. If the legislators have their way here in WA, you'll be required to have $25K per gun.
Yep. Welcome to our hell.I just read on the Gun University site that WA does not ALLOW you to buy CCW insurance. Unbelievable.
