Seekins Chassis now available

So I’m trying to decide between the Seekins and the Rokstok for my 6.5 prc build. For those who have shot both what are the pros and cons.

For me personally, owning both:

Rokstock Pros
-Recoil Impulse
-grip ergonomics
-Simple design

Hunter Chassis Pros
-Folder
-Integral MLOK is convenient
-very solid lock up

Weight was not listed because the difference is negligible between them, both are great options that, for me, serve different roles. You can nitpick both with cons but they are subjective. I feel the pros I listed are pretty objective between them.

nice rigs you got there. I really want to like the Seekins as they are about a mile from my house. But the magazine issue is a concern. And having to decide between the long or short action.
I have my action up at UM right now having it lightened and nitrided. The Rokstok has more options of bottom metal and mags. Guess I’ll just have to flip a coin

In all honesty, a sheep hunt will be the ultimate test of needing a folding chassis or not. I would personally opt for the savings of the Rostock and let that sheep hunt tell you what you need going forward.

I wish I had a sheep hunt I was going on. I have 25 points in Washington so hopefully I will get a chance one of these years soon before I can’t go. I think I will go with the Rokstok. I can always get the Seekins later after you guys work all the bugs out

Thanks a bunch. This is my first rifle build. Learning a bunch here. Pretty much everything I do will perform better that my old Ruger M77 270 that I’ve hunted with for the last 40 years

Pretty sure they are designed based on their CF options. I haven’t measured one, but messing with them at Scheels, they are by far the thinnest profile CF barrels I’ve seen. They float pretty well in the channel.

Unfortunately without redoing tooling or anything that likely covers 90% (everything except full sendero and bull really). Maybe they will someday though.

Don't have a RokStok but I do have a RokStok Lite and a Seekins Slam Chassis (same as Element but different carbon layup). They are identical in weight for what it's worth.

I'd give the RokStok Lite the following advantages:

• better grip area
• more real estate on the bottom of the butt stock for rear rest (assuming no bag rider installed on the Seekins)
• (minor) improvement in muzzle rise vs Seekins
• price

I'd give the Seekins chassis the following advantages

• fit and finish is head and shoulders above my RokStok Lite
• My Seekins was lighter than claimed weight; my RokStok Lite was notably heavier than claimed weight (still rubs me the wrong way...)
• adjustible check height and comb angle
• versitility of attachment points and types (full length m-lok)

Went ahead and ordered the Rokstok today. If I don’t like it I can sell and get the Seekins.

I was planning to do that this weekend. In all honesty, my little 6.5CM doesn't kick much at all. It might be hard to feel a difference.

My used HNT26 came with one and it's a pussycat behind 7Mag. The two rifles are within a couple ounces of each other and felt recoil is not much different.

Does the seekins have the same recoil sensation as the hnt 26? By this I mean the tuning fork vibration on recoil?

I have two dramatically different cartridges, so I can't really do a good apples to apples comparison. I also have Backstop recoil pads, so that changes the feel of the stocks from factory config. I don't experience any strange vibrations shooting either but I'm paying attention to my shot placement/groupings, not looking/feeling for vibrations. I could care less about what the stock is doing after I pull the trigger. Both feel solid and handle recoil very well. Obviously being somewhat light rifles, they do jump up a little but they will keep the target in scope. I can't say I prefer one over the other as far as shooting goes. It's the other little fit/finish/functionality things that would lean me towards the Seekins, if I have to choose one.

The fit and finish on my Rokstock was doodoo. Places chipping, etc. luckily, I don’t really care because it’s a tool but am in full agreement on the Seekins fit and finish swaying leaning.
