This is a stock MDT poly mag. I’m getting 2.8700” inside the mag for longest cartridge that can fit would be just slightly less than that. Can you confirm OAL max?
My seekins carbon 3rd mag for my 6.5prc does not fit if this is what anyone is wonderingthe 6.5 PRC and larger cartridges remain the question…
What tripod is this?
Aziak ridgelineWhat tripod is this?
What’s the specs on this? Who did your cerakote work? Sweet build!
@_MountainBum do you know what the OALIt’s the short action AICS mag
Apparently it is the PRC mag and long action mag that will NOT work. If I had a long action hunter chassis I’d try, but for the purposes of my 22cm these work great.
I’ll post a measurement in the morning!@_MountainBum do you know what the OAL
Of the Seekins CF SA AICS mag is by chance? I don’t see it published
They are not AICS mags, I don’t know why there is a question about them?the 6.5 PRC and larger cartridges remain the question…

For the ability to buy 3 mdts at the price of 1 Seekins I’d say load to max length if MDT’s and see if it’s usable hahaThat’s awesome thank you. Appear to be close in weight to the flush MDT plastic. But I need that extra length. Life debate on if it’s worth 3x the cost!
with the standalone weight of this chassis coming in at about 32oz (lightest form) there’s definitely no benefit weight wise, but in my experience hunting with manners, XLR, HNT26, rokstock, etc the benefit of a folding chassis is only noticed when you’re packing in/out. It changes nothing about the shooting experience.I just held one of the element hunters at Scheels today - the chassis is very nice. Folding mechanism and definitely robust and I like it a lot. Grip felt fine, but with the trigger lock on there it's hard to get a real good feel for it.
I certainly don't "need" one, but with a sheep hunt coming up in August, I'm weighing my options. I have a Gunwerks Magnus 7 SAUM that is just a few ounces shy of 10 lbs scoped. I need to pull the stock off and weigh it to see how it compares to this chassis. Besides the weight, the ability to fold it and have a much more compact rifle is really appealing.
Is that a Tikka action? I’m building 6.5 prc on a tikka action with proof sendero barrel. I’m trying to figure out if I need to go short action when ordering my stock or if long magazines can work?with the standalone weight of this chassis coming in at about 32oz (lightest form) there’s definitely no benefit weight wise, but in my experience hunting with manners, XLR, HNT26, rokstock, etc the benefit of a folding chassis is only noticed when you’re packing in/out. That being said
Use case is situationally dependent. For Jim Bob that hunts the back 30 and hand carries his rifle there is no sense in a folder, but in your case on a sheep hunt I believe you would find value in the folder. Tons of guys kill sheep in gnarly country with traditional stocks, but a folder makes navigating steep, brushy, alder-choked stuff noticeably easier: less snagging on branches, quicker to compact and stash while scrambling or glassing, and you can sit down to glass/rest without taking your pack off to lay the rifle flat, etc. most of my hunting spots are a pain in the butt to get into, and for that reason I value a folder. I can toss in on the front of my pack and go, sit, glass, take my pack off and set it upright, etc.
This 22cm setup weighs in at 9.9lbs (accounting for bipod not pictured)
Yeah it’s a tikka action, the 6.5 PRC works fine in a SA mag or can also be ran out if a LA mag too, with SA it’s just a little more picky on what mags work. To my understanding, 6.5 PRC in the SA Hunter chassis only allows metal AICS, where you can get away with poly/carbon mags for true for shorter cartridges - 22cm, 6cm, 308, etcIs that a Tikka action?
