Seekins Chassis now available

I picked one of these up to build up a Tikka .223 trainer in and I have been exceptionally happy with it so far. I'm taking it out on Saturday to do some field shooting but it seems like this will be a really handy little rifle.

The fit and finish was excellent on the chassis I received, installation was a breeze. This is making me even more excited to get the Element Hunter I ordered.

It is definitely stiff but I don't get the people who freak out about it its a friction hinge, thats what holds it closed when folded so I don't want it loose and rattling. i have no issue folding and unfolding it quickly.

Mini carbide bit in the Dremel did the trick. Took several passes but she fits in there nicely. From what I can tell, she's sitting all the way down. Barrel clearance for days.

Folder fits around the Waypoint bolt, perfectly.

Unfamiliar with a BSF contour. Do you know where it falls with regards to a M24/Carbon sendero?

That bottom channel looks like mlok? Is there a full length Arca available yet anywhere or guys doing small sections?

I now see your estimated measurements, thanks. Very helpful gents!!

BSF has a larger than Sendero profile. 0.930" vs 0.830". It's between a magnum and bull contour. It's also not a tapered contour. The carbon section is straight. From what i'm seeing, you could easily go larger, but that's not really the market for this chassis.

The bottom has MLok all the way down, but the rail protrudes from the forend about 0.100". I know Seekins has a mini Arca plate that's about an inch long, but i'm sure any other MLok Arca plate would work. I'm gonna printing my own arca rail that fits tighter to the chassis, so it's not floating below the forend. Right now, I just have a generic Arca plate that I printed for my Grayboe Trekker's sling studs, but you can see it's spaced out that ~0.100".

Awesome man, super helpful.

I've seen their small sideways ARCA plate (among others like the Annex Sidekick, etc...) and they are slick for tripods, but none of my bipods would work with a sideways ARCA.

Like the idea of printing that so it fits better. If you want to share the STL lots of guys have printers now if you're not trying to sell them!

I'm not opposed to providing an STL file. I'll see what I come up with, but it's pretty low priority right now.

Lots of full length mlok arca options. Cheap on Amazon just need the length you want.

That said, not having full length is personally what I’m excited about this this. I hate the feel of arca in the hand. A small section right where you’ll connect a tripod and maybe an mlok bipod on the end with 12” plus of normal feeling stock in the middle sounds great.

Where’d you get the chassis for the tikka inlet? All I’ve seen is preorder mentioned. Appreciate any feedback you have after shooting it

So the one you received was on a “preorder” status when you ordered it? How long did it take for you to get it?

When I ordered it, it said it was backordered when adding to cart. Ordered on the 12th. Shipped on the 23rd. Received today (26th)

I pre ordered a tikka sa the day they released and I received it Feb. 27th. I put a 20” T3x .308 in it and it looks good I think. I plan on shooting it today and doing a write up on here with pics and weights all the way through the process for anyone else who wants to go this route.

What mags are you using?

Shot the chassis yesterday. No regrets, especially for the price point on a nice folding chassis. Thing is solid. Coming from a Grayboe Trekker, it feels like an upgraded version with a better grip. Recoil pad is pretty good too. It ate up 100 rounds of 6.5CM. The cheek riser on the other hand, is not friendly for 100 rounds. 😂 With my experience shooting the Grayboe, I'm not gonna do a bag rider. I managed just fine with multiple sub MOA groups at 200y. I'm happy with that.

I was able to make a magpul AICS mag work. It took about 5 minutes and a file. It isn’t pretty but I’ll finish it later on a mill. Looks like the depth into the mag well has plus stock to restrict poly or carbon mags.
