I just got mine yesterday. The stove jack is about 12 inches from the center of the tent. I have a two man nest on the way. Wanted to see if it would fit before I ordered it. There will be plenty of room with a stove.

Just curious, what is the weight with the stove jack installed? I ordered mine, but didn't make the cut for the first shipments so will probably be a few weeks before I can test myself.

DaveC I ended up ordering a BT2, I appreciate your advice and your blog review, hard to beat how light and simple that thing is. Cimmaron looks awesome, but I'm out solo too much to pack that much shelter.

For anyone out there waiting on the next run of Cimarron tipis, I just got an update tonight that they should be shipping soon. Looking forward to breaking mine in on a 4 day scouting trip next month.

Help me understand a cold and a bug problem on the same trip.?
Sometimes the stove is more a benifit to drying clothes out than to keep you warm. I have had some storms hit in northern California get everything soaked and then it's 75+ degrees the next day. The bugs can be quite bad here. I don't run a nest but if it makes someone more comfortable to have it great. What works for one may not work for all.

I was told they should ship this week, keeping my fingers crossed because I have a trip next weekend and really wanted to give it a good field test

When did you place your order? I am eagerly waiting as well.

Hope it works for ya. It's all I've used this year.

Last year I ordered the BT-2 and the LBO with 3-piece vestibule. They arrived together and weren't labeled. There was a small stuff sack and a larger stuff sack. I immediately assumed that the small stuff sack was the BT-2 being the supposedly smaller shelter. I quickly staked it out and really didn't pay much attention except to the inside size. I realized that my head and feet were touching the sloped sides lengthwise and quickly stuffed it back in the pouch and listed this BT-2 for sale. Sold it, sent it off, and then went to set up the larger bagged LBO a few days later. After staking it out, I quickly realized that this was a BT-2......not an LBO. Well, eventually sorted it all out with the guy that bought it. But I still could not believe how much bigger the stuffed sack was on the BT-2 than the LBO with 3-piece vestibule.

I wonder how the Cimmaron compares in stuffed size to the BT-2?

It's a girlfriend doesn't like to sleep in the dirt problem, although beast hit it pretty well on the head for other scenarios as well.
I completely understand the girlfriend thing. My wife is going to experience her first true floor less trip in a week. She is a little worried but I'm sure after a couple nights she will like it.

My wife is going to experience her first floorless trip in a few weeks when we take the Cimarron out for a 4 day trip. It will also be her first multi day packpacking trip of her adult life. She did some horse camping with her family as a kid, but never spent more than a night or been off the trail on a backpacking trip. I figure after 4 days she will either love it, or want a divorce. Either way I'll get to spend more time on the mountain in the future. LOL!

This is the attitude more people need in life, being able to find the good in any situation! Haha good one!;)
