Seam Sealing REI Tent

What should I use to seam seal an REI tent? Is there a type of silicone that works better than others when mixed with mineral spirits or should I just get Sil-Net or something else?

Depends on what the material is. SilNet is for silicon nylon. If it has PU coating SeamGrip is the right sealer. It also depends if only one side is coated.

Your best bet is to contact REI and ask them. Still do you own verification. I had a manufacturer provide the wrong sealer with a shelter and it didn't work.

Sent REI an email question about the same time I started this thread. Here is their response for anyone else who searches for this in the future

Thanks for your message regarding maintenance of your REI Half Dome 2 Plus tent.

The seams of your tent have been sealed at the factory and shouldn't need additional sealing in this short a time. You might find this article from REI's product experts helpful, though, as you own your tent:
