Here's the difference. The scythe is a NFA item. Some of us are basically stuck with them. Did mine blow up, hell yeah it did and I have no confidence it won't do it again.
Did it hit where I was aiming? Not sure, I was running a ladder test and one of the first 20 through my new barrel blew it up. Don't care. I wont use it hunting when I have long opportunities.
Ill burn that bitch down at a PRS match or at the range though. Will I use it in the deer woods here in the south, you bet.
I wouldnt buy one today knowing what I know now. Id have another Dilligent can or two. Id be a little worse off if it were my one and only 30cal can but it's not. I'm out on future sico purchases.
The leupold has proven to not be reliable and I've also experienced that first hand. Didnt want to believe it but its true. They're not as legally binding to keep around.
Plenty of guys at matches shoot leupold and they seem to be okay. But I also see them religiously checking zero. Who knows what they would find if they swapped to a more reliable scope? I'm not a social justice warrior when it comes to gear so im not going to go tell someone unprovoked that they need a new scope. But you can sure as shit not put yourself in that spot.... with both products.
