My wife has a conference in Scottsdale in late March. I’m going to go out with her. Anything fun to do while she’s there or us to do when not at the conference. Good places to eat, things I should check out? I don’t play golf and don’t want to sit around the resort pool, though I’ve been told the scenery is fantastic. Thought from people out that way?

i just got back from there. There are a lot of cool regional parks to go hike around. Its a little different than what i typically encounter at areas like this.. seeing Rolls Royce's, Bentleys and other super high end cars parked at the trail heads kind of threw me for a loop. I did not know just how Bougie scottsdale was.. But i had a good time. There are some parts of scottsdale that have great food, plenty of night life, etc. The scheels in Chandler was pretty cool if you want to go blow some money on outdoor gear that you surely need. :) are you a baseball fan? If so... just go to spring training games.

P.S. I highly recommend taking your wife out and having a cocktail or two in the bar at the Biltmore. Just a damn good experience.. sure it costs a little more than your average cocktail and appetizers but it is a pretty damn cool place and we had a great time there.

Scottsdale has a ton of fine dining and watering holes. Some are better than others and the prices are all over the place too. Check out all the usual places online to find the info, but if there's something in particular you or your lady likes we can point you to some good places.

Assuming you like outdoors (Rokslide after all), check out Scheels, 5.11, Yeti, Bass Pro, REI as mentioned earlier if you don't have one near you at home. Also there are a couple of great local stores like Outdoorsman, many good gun shops and shooting ranges and some really good archery stores.

Buck and Rider if you have any interest in raw seafood. Flown in daily, happy hour is fantastic.

Camelback mountain is a good hike.

I second whoever said take your lady for a nice cocktail and appetizer at the Biltmore.
