Did a little trading and ended up with an Interarms Mark X in 30-06. I'll admit this may not be one that I would have sought out, but it is a pretty nice rifle. Just about all the info I have found on it is positive. I'll get to shoot it later in the week to see how she prints.
Had the headspace checked just for good measure. Local smith only charged me $15 and had it done in about 15 minutes.
Headed to the range. Shot some Federal 150 grain PSP and was getting a little worried about accuracy. Shot about 2" at 100. Next I shot some 150 grain Remington Core lokt. A couple minor scope adjustments and it printed under an inch. The scope that came with it is a Redfield Tracker 3-9×40. Pretty decent scope for an oldie.
Next I will probably buy something in the 165-168 grain range and see how it does.
