Gotcha, sorry I didn't understand why you were asking.

Everything on the rifle has been degreased and torqued to spec but not loctited. When I put it together everything I was reading said you can't get a proper torque spec with loctite. Obviously that thinking has changed since then but the rifle always shot "good enough" so I never bothered to take it apart to loctite.

Action is not bedded but the barrel is free floated (probably could be more).

Muzzle device is an Ultra 7.

So everything is suspect, except for oil/ grease in the wrong spot. Lots of stuff to work through before you can say what the cause was.

Yeah I definitely need to tear everything apart and redo it. I also just realized that the last time the rifle was apart was when TBAC cut and threaded the barrel for me and I never checked torque after that.

Hornady American Whitetail 139gr
Mid 20's Fahrenheit yesterday
Shot off a front bag only

This rifle was passed down to me, unfired, from my father-in-law. Serial number looks like it is a 1994. These are rounds 23-33 on the rifle. The first 22 rounds were random loose/unboxed 7RM ammo that I used to do initial zero and play around at 200yd steel with. We are planning a mule deer hunt this fall and I would love to drop one with this gun... think that would be special... he is really like a father to me. I will be shooting this rifle a lot this year and will probably sub it in for woodchuck control this spring/summer to get more practice on it. I have only shot up to a 6.5CM thus far so recoil is noticeably more. I don't know that I would have called shot #10, but totally possible shooter error on that one.
