Plan on spending more than what you think is "reasonable" and be blown away with the quality. Once you buy good glass, you'll never want to shoot a cheap piece again.

Assuming this is a 110apex, it came with a 20 moa rail.. I would also consider upgrading those rings as well. Anything with a 2-3 x on the bottom end and 10 on the top. 42 or 44mm lense. I have a handful of 2.5-10x44 viper hs. They’ve served me well and I like them. I use their pro series rings as well with great results. Swaro makes a z3 that fits this but is a 1” tube vs 33mm, it is also priced competitively

I changed to Nighforce scopes and never looked back. I think you’ll be very pleased with any of their products.

The nightforce shv 3-10 is a great scope for what you are talking about (not dialing, duplex reticle). I love mine and eventually I’d like to get a few more.

The trijicon deals happening now are great too, I paid 739.00 for my tenmile 3-10x50 and it is definetly a full feature scope that was like 1000.00 off on their sale.

That scope is no more reliable than the Vortex you currently have. A NF SHV 3-10x with duplex reticle, or S&B Klassiks especially in fixed powers are however, a massive upgrade.
No sh!t? I hear swaro and i think top of the line...maybe thats only the case with binos?

I was thinking no more than $1,000...figure that will get me pretty good glass...much better than the crossfire no doubt. I keep hearing about how much of a difference quality glass makes, I cant wait to see for myself. Next up will be upgrading from the Diamondback binos.

another vote for the NF SHV. I also think that leupold usually gives you a good product for the price. vx3 is a good option for less money than the nightforce. vx5 is about the same price point as SHV. In my opinion, the vx5 has better glass but isn't as dependable from a reliability standpoint.

I have had great luck with Leupold scopes. They seem to stay put very well once sighted in. I am not easy on equipment in the woods and brush either. Another nice thing I like is the eye relief and FOV seems to be more to my liking than most scopes.
Ive been eyeballing the vx-3hd and vx5hd wondering if you get $400 worth of improvement with the vh5

Looks like I have MOA/rail research to do as well as shopping out some quality rings. This is something that didnt even cross my mind...I know the crossfire has a 1" tube, figured if i found a scope with a 1" tube then just mount it up. If not just get new rings..

Here's a picture of my brothers vortex pro (aka seekins) rings last week

So far night force and Burris rings have worked well for me.

Try these in addition to already mentioned Nightforce and on sale Trijicons.

I had thought there were two 3-9 SWFAs on the classifieds.

My bushnells are over priced, but are good models to seek.

I had a VX3 for 15 years before recently putting the SHV on my rifle. Moved the VX3 over to a different gun. It served me well. You eventually get smaller and smaller returns on the dollar as you move up the cost ladder when it comes to the glass. I wanted something more rugged, reliable and the option to dial.
