Scope suggestions for $700-$800 please!

My final thoughts on this topic are simple. If the scope doesn’t pass basic tracking and repeating tests by an objective observer, I won’t recommend it. Passing the drop test is important too. I need a reliable sighting device on my rifle. I don’t need a world class telescope. Once glass is at a sufficient level, reliability is paramount.

I would also happily use a fixed 6x or 8x on every rifle I own (except my AR, which has a 4x ACOG). I don’t like 2.5-4x hunting scopes. They don’t have enough magnification for placing shots between obstacles in any kind of woods situation. The most powerful optic I currently own is a fixed 12x on a varmint rifle.

For my middle aged eyes I love the Trijicon Accupoint 2.5-10x56mm scope.

It is very bright and clear, and uses special materials to provide a bright dot in the middle without any battery, keeping weight down.

I use it at the range to hit steel at a half mile (860 yards) no problem.

They have a lot of different reticle choices for it.

I put a Trijicon credo 2.5-15 on my 6.5 prc and love it. Picked it up for $840 on optics planet. Look for some coupons or used. Having a scope that passes the drop test is worth the extra money to me.
