Nah, an almost identical thread on a different forum by supposedly a different person who also claimed to be from Michigan and unable to see deer in low light at 300 yards except with a 40x scope. Posted a picture looking through a scope at a horse claiming it showed how impossible it was to pick out the vitals in broad daylight, much less at last light.

The whole thing went about like this thread has.

Ah. Well for what it's worth, there's an insane amount of hunters here in Michigan. It's our favorite past time. I guess that's what the blackpowder comment was about too?

Go with the Nightforce. Well-earned reputation for reliability and while I don't own the 7-35 atacr, I recently looked through one at a match and was quite impressed with it. I own/have owned a few NF scopes and was never unhappy with their performance.

Go see an opthalmologist and have your vision checked prior to refitting your bang stick.

In my very own opinion, unless you are shooting at the gnats nuts on the back of a fly sitting on the top of the nose of the critter you're looking for, the zoom capability you're looking for really is a silly choice. It is your choice to make however. So, you do you.

This is a fun thread. I’m actually impressed by the civility!

OP, can I ask how your current scope is letting you down? Genuinely curious. You mentioned poor image quality, is it too poor to make a shot, or too poor to look at rack size, or something else?

Regarding your question, I don’t have experience with those exact scopes, but I love my NF. They have great deals on expertvoice for mil/leo/industry, and if you don’t pay taxes on optics, it sounds like you would meet the criteria.

Worst case scenario, all the Rokslide guys end up correct and you sell it for a profit. Best case scenario, you love it.

First I'm interested in hearing about how this federal tax exemption prevents you from paying P-R taxes on riflescopes... since they that tax is actually assessed twice, the first of which is when they are manufactured.

Neither I nor my friend I'm currently hunting with (who is a financial attorney) has ever heard of anyone in the US purchasing a riflescope 100% tax free.
