I look forward to your opinions!
I was thinking the same thing. Thread looks really similar to that oneAny chance this is going on a very accurate state of the art blackpowder gun?
@Soj51hopeful - The critiques are unwelcomed. I'm asking for opinions on a few scopes. Not about how I'm using them.Yeeaaahhh….. the critiques are just going to happen here. Especially with the ridiculousness you are wanting.
I checked it out but I didn't care for the reticle. I do like the 4.5-29x aspect though.I would look at the Athlon Cronus BTR Gen2 UHD 4.5-29x56 with the APLR5 reticle if going MOA or APRS6 if MIL.
That's SFP.I would check out the trijicon tenmile 5-50x56. 35x on the top end isn’t enough to get you out to 400 yards.
I have owned a lot of high-end scopes, but I'd still like opinions.you know what you need from actual experience with high end optics. You won’t need the advice of an Internet forum to guide you.
No.This has to be a troll bot.
No, it's a .308.Any chance this is going on a very accurate state of the art blackpowder gun?
I don't pay taxes on firearms or scopes, so this will be a purchase I don't worry about that on.You would pay a lot fewer taxes by going with a 3-9x40...
Low light performance is going to be really poor even with alpha glass with 25x and 56mm objective because it creates a 2.2mm exit pupil projected onto a 4-5mm dilated pupil. Even with great glass and 50mm+ objectives you typically need to back off to 8x-12x to maximize image quality.
More magnification is not always a good thing, honestly is generally a bad thing with the zoom ranges mentioned regardless of glass quality.
Look at a horse through your current scope so we can see the image quality
34mm tubes will not transfer more light than 30mm, you just get more erector travel.I'd like to think that my 5-25x50mm Schmidt & Bender would qualify as "Alpha Glass", but it isn't that great when looking out at those distances (the parallax is also set to maximize clarity at that distance). I'm wondering if upgrading from a 30mm tube to ~34ish might help and upping it to 56mm.

I don't have a horse and there aren't any around. Seems like a random data point?

I think you really should be looking at lower magnification ranges. I’ve killed out to 500 yards with a 2.5-10x42 NXS at last light. Quite honestly any scope that cost more than $1,000 has adequate glass quality to not be worth splitting hairs over.
I don’t think you fully realize the optical tradeoffs involved with higher magnification.
LMAO - tube diameter doesn’t effect light transmission, so going from 30 to 34mm won’t help.
The size of the image projected onto your eye is the Objective diameter divided by the magnification, this is called exit pupil. If the exit pupil size is smaller than your pupil the perceived image quality will degrade. Low light pupil size varies by individual but for adults is typically 4-5mm. This is independent from % light transmission. Raising the magnification will decrease the exit pupil size.
How is feedback complete without honesty?See comments above. Just looking for feedback on the ones I noted, not critiques of "why".

Seems every thread is getting taken in a different direction lately. Guy is asking about 3 scopes, he has narrowed it down to. He specifically asks if anyone has any experience with said scopes. Then he gets met with all kinds of guys telling him, that is not what he wants or needs..... Now if he asked "is this a good scope for my intended purpose, or would you recommend others?" then I would expect the answers in this thread. How is feedback complete without honesty?
