So I just picked up a Kimber Montana in 6.5cm. I want to keep this rifle light, so I’ll probably use Talley rings. As far as scopes, I’ve been eyeing the Leupold fx-ii 6x36. This scope weights 10oz. I’d ultimately like to be able to shoot to 500 yards. The Leupold shop is down so they won’t answer my question, figured maybe someone here knows. Since this scope only comes in duplex reticle, do you know if CDS turrets can be made for that scope? Are there any other options I should be looking at?

Can't really help you with your question, but I put a Vortex Razor HD LH (16oz) on my Montana 280ai. Not as light as your going, but I really like it.

The custom shop can do a LR duplex reticle for that scope. I would also assume they could do CDS dials for it as well, since they can do M1 turrets.

Also just my option, if upgrading to a turret system. I'd opt for a standard MOA dial vs their CDS system that is specific for one load, in one specific condition. I've heard a some bad stories of custom CDS made for one ballistics/condition at 800' elevation and then they go on high elevation hunt say 9k-10k and their CDS dial is off.

I do not think you can do CDS with an FXII. I had one with the LRD, I liked the scope but the dials are a crapshoot. Once set it worked fine me though. That was on a Barrett Fieldcraft in 6.5 Creedmoor. It now has a Vortex HD LH 1.5-8
Edit: my 84M in 338 Fed has a VX3i 2.5-8

Ziess Conquest HD 3 X 15 42. Low profile, light weight and glass is super clear. I have one with the pop up turrets.
