Scope offset

What’s the concensus on acceptable offset. Unless you have really fine adjustments it’s darn near impossible to get it 100%. Do you prefer to have the center of the group a bit high, left/right. Does it even matter? Trying to get a zero lined up but wanted to know what others felt about it.

You’re waaaaay overthinking it. There isn’t a gun or shooter on the planet that needs finer than 1/4 moa to get a zero centered. The most you could possibly be off with .25 moa clicks is 1/8” at 100 or 2.5” at 1k.
Edit: actually 1.25” at 1k, since the clicks would be 2.5” ea. whoops.

If its even truly repeatable on different days and assuming absolutly zero wind....
Windage: favor the side opposite what it shoots at your max range.
Elevation: favor click high.

I'd pick left for spin drift, but aside from that, 0.18" (or 0.125" if you don't shoot mil) is never going to impact anything.
