Scope Adapter Bushings/ Inserts to put 1" scopes in 30mm rings

I'm pretty well standardized on 30mm scope rings but am now in the market for a lighter scope and most of them are 1" tubes.

I see a few different companies selling bushings/ inserts to put a 1" scope into a 30mm ring.

Anybody have experience with these? Are they a foolish waste of time or a practical piece of simplicity?

I’ve had scope bushings and they work just fine - might even grab the scope tube better than anodized aluminum against anodized aluminum.

They don’t slip around, or mar the scope tube, but they do look funny. Every time I looked at the scope it didn’t seem as elegant of a solution as just getting 1” rings.

Fast forward 2 decades and I’m going through exactly what you are putting a 1” 10oz straight power scope on a mountain rifle - 30mm rings are inexpensive and available everywhere, especially the new cool ones.
