Depends on what you are looking for. Sheep, exotics, out of the country stuff I think it's a great resource to meet people/owners, get a sense for prices, etc.

You might give the Dallas SCI show a shot too. I’ve booked a couple hunts at both shows, but I prefer the Dallas show. I bought my dad a whitetail hunt that he really had a great time on, it was nice for me to be able to get a feel for the outfiter in person. I also was able to talk to a couple outfitters who I thought I might want to hunt with that convinced me I absolutely did not want to hunt with them. Having been on a few bad outfitted hunts, getting to meet an outfitter in person before you send them money is priceless.

Both the big SCI shows are worth the price of admission just to see the unbelievable taxidermy and displays. There’s occasionally a bargain or two to be had as well. These days what can be considered a bargain is open for interpretation though.

Who here has had good luck finding quality hunts at the Nashville convention? I’m only a few hours away is the show worth it?
There are a lot of quality outfitters there, so odds are good. If you’re looking to get to know a few outfitters I would recommend going Wednesday and/or Thursday. Friday and Saturday are always slammed and the ability to sit down at a booth and have a meaningful conversation becomes more difficult.

Additionally, if you’re looking for a specific hunt or gear ie sheep, boots, Africa, Spain, bear, etc. you can check the floor plan/exhibitor roster to put together a punch list and get booth numbers. If you have trouble finding it I can point you in the right direction.

Lastly, wear comfy shoes and save an extra day for just walking around and looking.

I have booked 2 bucketlist hunts for me at the SCI show. I was also able to get a feel for the market on a couple of other hunts, and ended up booking with outfitters not at the show.

I think it is really dependent on what you want to hunt. If international hunts are on your bucket list, it is almost a must go, just to understand all that is out there and to get questions answered.

Also there is a lot of clothing such as Kuiu and Stone Glacier so you can actual feel and try out their stuff.

But you need at least 2 days.
