All the more reason to find a secure way to send funds that offers some kind of protection. Sorry you got scammed. Hopefully we, as a community, can learn from it. Some people are jerks.

Kill Devil Hills was onced used by the locals to lure ships into the sandbars during storms. This was done by riding a horse around the rim of the dune with a lantern to look like the lighthouse. The unsuspecting ships would wreck and the next day the locals would gather everything on the shore line all the while stepping between the bodies of their victims. Guess the old habits there have evolved a bit.

WTB listings seem to be a primary source of where the scammers prey. I am looking for a 7mm Rem Mag, but for that very reason, I am just patiently waiting for the right one to be posted for sale by a reputable forum member.

How many times do people say, DO NOT use Venmo or F&F?

Ill do f&f every time when dealing with an established member to avoid paying 3% to corrupt, anti-gun paypal (that might be $100 on a high end optic). Same goes for trades—just as risky as f&f. Vast majority of scams are from new accounts with low number of posts., 99% you can work things out with the rest, without getting paypal involved…thats a risk i am willing to guage and take..

Now what were those old old sayings?

"A fool and his money are soon parted." ~ Thomas Tusser, (1524 -1580), English Poet

There's a sucker born every minute. PT Barnum

So you just sent funds to a phone number that contacted you?
Well......yes

I tried posting this exact number in here as a scammer and it was locked and went back pages.
Yeah. I Saw your post… exact same number - only a week or so ago. Bad as the coyotes or crows. They pick and pick until they figure out how to get their quarry.

Thank you for sharing With folks.

wtb ads are like playing with fire, strippers or hair dressers named Tiffany. Your chances of getting burned or herpes is super high! Be careful!
