WTS SCAMMER - vthokee

Only other thing I could think is he had that info from a previous account he had hacked.

Plenty of us have made purchases where are names, emails and addresses are sent to the seller.

Highly doubt a scammer is giving anyone his real address. This “Bigfoot guy” has hacked several accounts, he’s not dumb. Likely the address of one of the account he hacked or somebody he dislikes lol. I’d put the pitchforks down.

Yeah it’s definitely not that guys house, he gives zero big foot vibes… we need to lay a trap, big enough to catch him…

What I don't get is even with PayPal F&F it's still fraud and the money can be traced, it has to leave PayPal to go somewhere, either a bank account or spent from PayPal which will likely leave bread crumbs to trace it back to the fraudster. I would think LEO would be able to follow it if they cared to do so.

I had my previous account hacked, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was this guy. I notified rokslide early on but they didn’t respond for months. I now have a new account with zero credibility when selling stuff. Be safe out there guys.

Might be a random unrelated address with a bluff to accept MO for credibility. Not like the scammer is out anything if somebody mails a MO. The truck sticker is interesting though.
Very strong chance this is not scammers actual address (thought the sticker makes you wonder)These scammers often find legitimate addresses in the US to have money orders shipped to. They will demand tracking with photos of the MO and lead you to believe they will ship item as soon as you provide tracking… they then redirect the package to the address in which they reside.VERY LONG STORY BUT I learned this when an obvious scammer trying to get me on an over under SG provided an address that was within 45min of my house. I showed up. It was a church. No I did not send the $ order.

He got me too on a chronograph but I used g&s . How the hell can he have that many messages, reaction score, and been a member since 2016? This is the first time ive been scammed on here. Ill upload our conversation
I was PMing him about that chrono and was ready to buy. He gave me the runaround about waiting to hear from someone else and then I never heard from him

Yeah he mentioned selling it to you if I didn't want it. Crazy that he's even acting like a normal seller. He also accepted PayPal g&s from me which makes zero sense to me unless they never take the money back from him. Pretty crazy how clever some people are. Ive never been scammed before on any forum and I'll get my money back but it still sure puts a bad taste in my mouth.

Call the police. They can at least go to the address and check him out. Then call PayPal to inform them. They’ll have the account information.

If the bigfoot person hacked the previous owners account they would have access that guys DMs and thus any sales threads where he sent someone his address. There would be a sticker because its the original account owners address, not the hacker.

One example is data breaches. If someone hacks into any large corporate account by using backdoors, brute force password cracking, security software lapses etc they can gain acess to that corporations user names and passwords. They can then sell that list. If you have acess to the bulk aggregation list of those user names, passwords, phone numbers etc you can search for a specific name and grab their info. If your trying to get i to a specific persons account on a specific forum you search any info about them and pair it to the purchased list and check to see if they reused their password. If they did, you potentially have acess to multiple accounts of theirs.

This is most effective on systems lacking two-step authentication. Thats just one example, there are many other options. Change your passwords regularly and dont use the same one across multiple sites.

While it would be difficult to know if the person doing the scamming is a hacker or the actual legitimate holder of the account, posting their name and address in a public forum is dangerous either way. Calling on others to do violence in your name can get really bad really fast, with lots of unintended collateral damage.

Can we get 2 step verification with Authy for this site? Would def help prevent hackers from stealing an account and selling non-existent items.
