Hello everyone. Just a heads up to everyone. There is a scammer amongst us!! I was scammed on Monday. The listing was for a Tikka Roughtech stock. The scammer had hacked into another user who had good feedback numbers. The hacker used PayPal account “[email protected]”. Everything appeared legit until I asked for tracking information. The hacker removed the PayPal info from his pm to me. As all this was happening an admin deleted his ad listing and banned him as a user so I couldn’t even go back to see the original listing. This scammer may come back as another user so pay close attention to the PayPal address. Thanks and good luck to all the honest folks out there.

After a similar experience I ask for a phone call with every seller before purchasing. You'll find out right away if it's legit.

The only payment method that has buyer insurance, is paypal

And they won’t cover anything firearms-related, at least in my experience. I am not saying that any of the payment methods are fool-proof. If you have any doubts about the person, you need to schedule a video call with them or at least talk with them.

That’s probably a good reason to request zero gun related words in the notes.

This is the first issue I’ve had on Rokslide. Even though I don’t like the way PayPal conducts business, especially anything related to gun or accessories, I can’t necessarily blame them in this case. I think the appropriate method , if it were available, would be for the actual payment go to a hold account that was visible to the seller and buyer. The release of the funds would be triggered by a confirmed delivery. If the delivery didn’t show confirmation within a set number of days the money cas credited back to the buyer. In that scenario the seller would be encouraged to ship and enter tracking info against the pending payment ASAP. Downside in many cases is that the seller wa its payment ASAP and usually before shipment. If the seller knew that the funds we his(pending) and the only way he wouldn’t get that payment would be if he neglected making the shipment in a timely way. You could also add a feature that would allow the buyer to extend the payment period if the seller contacted buyer and the buyer agrees to it. Just some thoughts.
