Savage Accutrigger Issue?

The trigger can be pressed without actuating the trigger safety. It's currently not in a stock. Is this a problem or is it because it's not in a stock?

I think that's normal, and doing so should not allow the rifle to fire. The accutrigger blade acts as a sear-blocker. You will have to open the bolt and reclose to reset the trigger group I should think.

Makes sense. I found a video on how the trigger works and it kind of explained it.
