I saw a video and that thread locker solidifies into sand. Needs some heat to soften it up.

Got the brake off. There is some kind of thread locker in there. What a pain! I stuck 2 nails through the open ports, aligned with the barrel. Then put it in a vice loosely, enough to engage the nails. Twisted the stock and it finally broke. The hardest part was getting the bent nails out!

Are you able to tell if the thread is 5/8-24 or 5/8-34?

I managed to order a 6.5-284 on 12/28, got the email yesterday that it was at my local store ready for pickup. Went today tp get the rifle and when they brought it out the stock had deep scratches in the exact spot their racks touch the guns. The barrel also had some wear in the same area that it would sit in the rack. The guy working behind the counter even said he thought it was ridiculous anyone would even ship a gun in that condition. They refused to discount the rifle any further and kept making comments about how easy it would be to restock the gun.

Needless to say, I left without the rifle. They were able to refund the portion of the order that was on my credit card, but told me I would have to call Bass Pro to get my gift card reimbursed. They were unwilling to even try to help me find another one.

I also got the display model 6.5 creed I figure it just gives me a reason to paint the stock plus its only plastic it'll buff out. After gift cards and with the rebate cost me 375 bucks seems cheap for what it is.

If they would've dealt a little more on the price, I definitely would have looked at it as a project. The scratches were a bit deeper than I was willing to deal with though.

I went the same route but haven't received rebate or a rejection notice. How long after submitting did you get the rejection email?

No number to call. I submitted another “receipt” PDF after chatting with Cabelas. Hopefully this will work. I’m done with Cabelas. I wish they would have provided this receipt showing purchase date initially. Of course, there is no picked up date printed on this document.

"An online order confirmation is not considered as proof of completed payment and shipment of products. A proof of shipment receipt must be provided."

I got rejected Monday, sent a new picture of my payment confirmation with a big arrow pointing to the visa pmt, then included a picture of the "pick slip", which, when ordering and paying online is the only proof of delivery I got from Cabelas when I picked up the rifle.

I submitted mine this morning before reading this. Im sure mine will get rejected now since I just included the receipt I had when ordering online and not the pick slip. Anyone know if I can modify the rebate submission before they look at it?

I printed my invoice that shows a status of picked up and used that as my receipt. Is that what is getting denied?
