I thought about buying one for a knock-around rifle.

I've never owned a Savage anything, I never did like the trigger, but my son-in-law has one in 308 Win; he said it shoots extremely well.

FWIW, had a “ standard “ 110 Storm in .223. Liked the 110 action enough to pull it, drop it into a MDT stock, screwed on a Shilen select match bull barrel for a terrific fun range rifle. Action has been flawless through several hundred rounds.
