Savage 110 Lightweight Storm .308 ... thread barrel?

I have a Savage Lightweight Storm in .308. Overall it's a decent lightweight knock around gun. It comes factory with a 20" lightweight contour barrel...
Could this barrel be threaded so I could put a brake and/or can on it?

Yes it absolutely could be threaded. There's a chance that there's not enough meat on that barrel to go 5/8x24, but you could go 1/2x28 and be just fine. You just need to check the muzzle to see how much material there is. I like those little Savages; typically accurate, and surprisingly lightweight.
