It’s good. The Europeans do not build cheap junk.

Better than all. It’s the best designed factory polymer stock on the market. Vertical’ish grip, high buttpad, negative comb.
Do you have any experience with cutting down the stock on these, with the sale eurooptic has I would like to pick one up for my daughter but I know the stock would be too long for her. Any recommendations on info to do this. I am a Pretty handy guy so I’m sure I could figure it out but any info anyone has I would appreciate.

Since we're talking about it, I took the barrel off mine to find out.

It appears to be 28mmx1.00 metric. simple flat face breech to action interface w/recessed bolt.

This barrel was MAYBE 75 lbs to break loose. I set up for a fight and as soon as I began to lean on it, it popped and spun right off. Pic is as it came off. Maybe a dab of thread locker but zero galling.

If anyone wants to do a Sauer build, I'm your huckleberry!

All these guys shooting out Sauers, bet I can pick one up on the cheap in a couple months and spring for some walnut.

Your rifle is listed as stainless steel...the Sauer 100 Stainless XTA.
The website states "The brand new SAUER 100 Stainless XTA combines outdoor durability, shooting ergonomics and elegance in one rifle."

So it seems this is a new model, and as far as I can tell, not yet available in the States. If it was, I would've likely already purchased one. Where did you find your rifle?

There was a thread on 24hourcampfire where someone cut down an Mauser M12. If these stocks are similar, this may help. I remember in the thread that it could only be shortened so much:

I love this place....you cant do that....well watch this lol, awesome.

In all seriousness, what is the quality of the wood stock?
Also, how does the polymer stock compare to a tikka, Ruger American, Franchi etc?
I don't know about the wood stock, but the polymer stock is pretty decent for what it is. The design is good, the actual polymer quality isn't anything special from what I can tell.

I like the grip more than the Tikka vertical, and the higher comb and recoil pad feel like they're where they should be. I don't really need a cheekpiece, unlike most other scoped rifles. Length of pull is 14.5", I don't notice the extra length shooting prone or supported, but it does feel a little long and ungainly for shorter folks using it offhand.
