Going solo in Colorado during either 2nd/3rd season and my girlfriend was asking me to get me something in case I come up missing or need help. I live in Texas (I know, laugh and giggle 🤭).

I don’t know what’s all the rage these days as far as sat phones, GPS beacons etc for hunting/location purposes.

What’s the cheapest/best option out there. I’m not concerned but want her to have peace of mind.

Thanks in advance

Best? Best what, best to who? Best for what?

To be rescued, all you need is a PLB (Personal Locator Beacon)

To communicate with your significant other, or perhaps a packer, you would need an Inreach or sat phone.

I have a Garmin GPSMAP 66i that works well for me. I use it when in the backcountry as well as offshore: https://www.thegpsstore.com/GPS-Units/Hiking-Handheld-GPS/Garmin-GPSMAP-66i-GPS-and-Satellite-Communicator?msclkid=4bc0443c5a2b1992c82e26d6d6604135&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Shopping PLA&utm_term=4581596245742424&utm_content=Merchant Center
Thanks I’ll take a look. Possibly just a PLB
